Year 6 Class Page

Welcome to Year 6

This is a very exciting and very important year as it is your child’s last year at St Andrew’s before they move onto secondary school.

 

We will have lots of fun learning activities that are linked to our topic work. We will also focus on getting your child ready for SATs in May.

We welcome you with big smiles for the exciting year that will commence. This is a very important year with lots of great learning opportunities and fun activities for the children to get involved with. You can find out more about what Year 6 are learning when you receive our termly newsletters. These will be packed full of information.

 

We are passionate about sharing our learning and you will see regular updates on this Year 6 web page.

 

The staff are friendly so if you have any questions please speak to the class teachers at the end of the day. They will be more than happy to offer support and help where needed.

 

The Year 6 staff team is made up of class teachers: Miss Philp and Mr Worwood

We are also incredibly lucky to have additional support in class from Mrs Hannon and Miss Brand.

 

The Year 6 staff teachers are Mrs Christie, Mr Worwood and Miss Philp. We are also lucky to have the additional support in class from Mrs Sonsana, Miss Grindley and Mrs Hannon.

Important Information

 

 

Tuesday and Friday

Bring your PE kit into school in a clearly named PE bag. You need a white T-shirt, blue shorts and some black pumps. In colder weather the children can bring in a dark navy or black matching tracksuit.

Homework

Every Friday Maths and English Homework will be handed out. This is due back the following Thursday.

DERICs are to be completed and handed in on a Friday. 3 are expected each week. 

 

Remember (at least 3 times a week) to log onto Timestable Rock Stars at least 3 times a week. Remember you should be fluent with all of your quick recall timetables up to 12x12. A good website to log onto is https://www.timestables.co.uk/multiplication-tables-check/

Remember to read at home. Our school has paid into BugClub. This is an excellent resource that allows you to read a selection of different books in fun and exciting interactive ways.
